• When are the next series of classes?
The next series of classes will begin on Sunday, January 24, 2010, during 3rd service (11:50am-1:30pm), and run for 6 consecutive weeks (with a break on February 14th).

• What’s the point of premarital preparation?
The premarital classes are designed to give couples the opportunity to explore their relationship and gain the tools necessary to grow and maintain a healthy, loving, Christ-centered marriage.

• Who may attend the premarital classes?
Engaged couples as well as seriously dating couples who are pondering the next steps in their relationship are welcome to attend.  Space is limited, so register sooner rather than later to guarantee a spot.

• When and where are the classes, and how many sessions are there?
The premarital class consists of six sessions and will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room (room 21) at Newsong Church in Irvine during 3rd service (currently scheduled for 11:49am to 1:30pm; subject to change).

• What’s the format of the class and what are the topics?
The format of the class is lecture/discussion with some time set aside for small group discussions. Additionally, some videotapes are used for illustrative purposes.  The classes are taught from a Christian perspective and include topics such as Love, Marriage and Family of Origin Issues, Communication and Conflict Resolution, Finances, and Sexuality in Marriage.

• Are there any homework assignments?
In addition to talking with each other about what they are learning through the class, each couple is required to complete one assignment outside of class: the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis, which is a tool to help them understand themselves and their partner better. Each couple will have the opportunity to undergo a private feedback session to go over the results of the Taylor-Johnson Test.

• How much does it cost?
The cost of the premarital classes is $200.00 per couple, including all materials and the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis.

• Who teaches the class?
The primary teacher of the class is Rob Fisher of the Center for Individual and Family Therapy.
