Noah’s Place | Student Ministries Communications Coordinator

Description: The Communications Coordinator uses various media to communicate the ministry’s values, vision, and events to parents, volunteers, and kids.

  • Maintains websites with correct information and creativity
  • Works with designers to create event rave cards
  • Coordinates projects with Justin Nassie, Noah’s Place staff, and Wet Ink Printing
  • Ensures that we are communicating Noah’s Place visions and values in everything we do
  • Contacts absent volunteers and addresses recent birthdays
  • Coordinates with a video editor and make video to promote Noah’s Place, as needed
  • Gathers information, such as photos, God stories and events and uses them accordingly

Time Commitment: 5 hours a week

Noah’s Place Curriculum Constructor

Description: Determines the best possible curriculum for the early childhood and late childhood ages that syncs with the next gen vision and philosophy.

  • Reviews our current curriculum and makes thorough notes about how it matches up with Newsong’s next gen vision and philosophy
  • Researches alternative published curriculums
  • Determines with next gen pastor the preferred future curriculum
  • Trains and works with teaching team to utilized curriculum to the fullest
  • Works with Helping Hands to determine the best additional activities to create a 5 senses experience for kids
  • Works with small group leaders to help them make the most of their small group time
  • Evaluates with next gen pastor after 1 season to determine improving the curriculum for next year.

Time Commitment: 7-10 hours a week for 1 ministry season

Noah’s Place | Student Ministries Retreat Coordinator

Description: This is a seasonal role in which the Retreat Coordinator executes the entire retreat planning process for Student Ministries and Noah’s Place.  They work in conjunction with the NP or SM Pastor.

  • Points the retreat from set-up to tear down
  • Responsible for securing all major components associated with the retreat (location, vendors, speakers, worship, activities, leadership needs, media, etc.)
  • Recruits other volunteers to help plan and execute the retreat and leads necessary meetings
  • Organizes retreat logistics and delegates appropriately (ex: small group assignments, transportation, attendance database, online registration, etc.)
  • Develops the event budget and online registration, if necessary
  • Works with Communication Coordinator to determine and implement the appropriate communication tools to publicize the event (website, e-blast, text message, announcements, etc.)
  • Coordinates and communicates with retreat location contacts
  • Writes and tweaks retreat’s schedule

Time Commitment: 10 hours per week for 4 months (starting 3 months prior to retreat and 1 month following)

Noah’s Place | Student Ministries Small Group Developer

Description: This person trains and cares for small group leaders in the ministry.  They observe small group leaders to offer feedback, curriculum ideas, feedback, and to maintain a level of consistency in throughout the ministry.

  • Observes each small group 1-2 times during the year
  • Sends out a small group newsletter each month with training ideas so small group leaders can learn from each other’s experiences and continue improving
  • Selects with the Student Ministries Pastor the small group curriculum options that we will be using and oversees the implementation of that material throughout the year
  • Works with small group leaders to plan fun outings and service opportunities throughout the year for their group
  • Keeps an accurate list of who is attending what small groups and helps to hold leaders accountable for contacting their students on a regular basis

Time Commitment: 6 hours per week

Noah’s Place|Student Ministries Special Events Coordinator

Description: This person oversees and points 2-3 special events throughout the year.

  • Points the event from set-up to tear down
  • Works with support staff to select dates for events that do not conflict with other ministry events at Newsong.
  • Develops the event budget and online registration, if necessary

Noah’s Place Volunteer Coordinator

Description: Serve as a coordinator for potential/new volunteers in placing them into specific teams/needs and help with schedules of all volunteers in the ministry.

  • First to communicate to a potential volunteer about the process of serving
  • Coordinates volunteer staff’s schedules for Sunday mornings
  • Arranges substitute volunteers, as needed
  • Helps in processing applications (ex: background checks, references, and entering the data into Fellowship One (F1) database)
  • Places new volunteers into needed ministry positions with spiritual discernment
  • Follows up with new volunteers after a month of serving to affirm their role

Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week

Artisans

Artisans | Performance Art Director

Description: Recognizes, empowers, and continually encourages point leaders in the areas of drama, dance, and other performance-based expressions of art

  • Aid in the recruitment and development of the above-mentioned teams
  • Work as the liaison between the Artisan Tribe leaders and the performance arts volunteers
  • Attend Artisan brainstorming and planning sessions as a contributing member of the process
  • Schedule and coordinate Sunday performances relevant to the sermon series at the time and giving the teams enough notice for ample preparation time.  At least once a quarter for each expression of art.
  • Give creative input and guidance to the performances by monitoring progress and regularly screening the routines, especially on the week before the performance.
  • Dream and communicate vision for the performance arts ministry of Newsong Church

Artisans | Research and Development Director

Description: Research and find new resources (videos, songs, websites, scripts, dances, etc) to be used to assist and inspire volunteers in the creative process for Sunday Worship, Artisans Verge and beyond

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest as well as some lesser-known congregational worship songs and writers (especially those who display “third culture” sounds) for the purpose of resourcing the worship ministry with new songs to sing at our services
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest and most relevant “secular” songs that contain deep meaning and truth so that these could be shared at our services
  • Find creative means of integrating the various elements (videos, songs, etc) to flow within the context of a thematic Sunday service
  • Research mainstream and independent films for setting up sermon topics and anecdotes
  • Attend Artisan Tribe brainstorming and planning sessions as a contributing member of the process

Artisans | Special Events Coordinator

Description: Plan and coordinate special events (i.e. Christmas Service, Easter, Summer Arts Festival, etc.) that bring the entire Newsong Community together to worship through celebration

  • Develop and care for teams (i.e. culinary, decor/ambience, planning, volunteer recruitment)
  • Involve various ministries to actively participate in execution of the event
  • Manage and coordinate large groups of people, delegate responsibilities well
  • Plan quarterly Artisan Connects for volunteers
  • Assist in planning retreats/outings for volunteers
  • Attend Artisan Tribe brainstormings and planning sessions to contribute to the process

Time Commitment: (varies depending on season/project; no events: 4 hours/week; with event: 10-12 hours)

Artisans | Care Connector

Description: Seek out and coordinate opportunities for the Artisans Tribe to tangibly care for the Newsong family AND the surrounding community, providing opportunities for volunteers to use their gifts to make connections and build relationships

  • Develop a team of “care warriors” to plan opportunities for Artisan volunteers and staff
  • Continually assess and inquire of what Artisan volunteers are interested in doing for the community
  • Plan a regular (weekly/monthly) experience for volunteers/staff to have the opportunity to be involved in helping with a specific cause/organization
  • If relevant, search and communicate information on how the Newsong community can be engaged in a Cause that is related to the Worship series so that what is communicated on Sundays is not limited to the walls of the sanctuary but continues beyond Newsong
  • If Newsong highlights an organization, assist coordinating booths/materials as well as in communicating with the organization
  • Assist ministries and activities already being carried out by Artisans by providing support through recruiting, awareness or creative ideas (the sky’s the limit!)
  • Attend Artisan Tribe brainstorming and planning meetings to contribute to the process

Time Commitment: (depending on project; average 4-6 hours a week)

Artisans | Special Services Team Director

Description: Coordinate Special Services including Communion and Baptism on Sunday morning

  • Be involved in Artisan brainstorming meetings and connect with Artisan  and Soul Care leaders to coordinate special services with the message series
  • Develop a team to carry out special services which include: 
    • Communion: coordinate set-up and serving for Communion Sunday
    • Baptism: set up and coordinate baptism services
    • Other special services: as needed

Time Commitment: Communion (7:30am-1pm) one Sunday per month, may occasionally require additional Sundays for special Communion services.  Baptism (7:30am-3pm) one Sunday per quarter.  Additional services (as needed)

First Steps

First Steps | Connections Coordinator

Description: Help Organize and attend Connections Dinners

  • Work with First Steps Coordinator
  • Help to organize Connections Dinners (duties vary but may include):
  • Coordinate sign-ups
  • Find host home
  • Purchase food
  • Coordinate invitees
  • Attend Connections dinner and help host prep for dinner
  • Set up materials at dinner as needed
  • Meet and engage attendees throughout dinner
  • Assist pastor in coordinating presentation
  • Clean up materials after dinner
  • Assist First Steps Coordinator in following up with dinner attendees

Time Commitment: 4:30pm-8:30pm once Sunday per month.  Additional time in the week prior to the dinner to help coordinate details and after the dinner for follow up of attendees.

Operations

Operations | Offering Team Director (2 positions available)

Description: Coordinate Offering Team on Sunday morning

  • Work with Newsong Operations Specialist
  • Collect offering from ushers
  • Coordinate Offering Team after offering is taken at each service
  • Process offering (cash and checks) with team
  • Learn Fellowship One so you can:
  • Make additions and changes to personal records
  • Understand and operate contributions software
  • Finish processing of mail and other offering after third service
  • Must be accurate and be willing to maintain confidentiality regarding Newsong member contributions
  • Be capable of training new team members in the overall process

Time Commitment: Starts when offering is taken after 1st service (usually around 9:45am) and continues until after third service (will usually finish by 2pm at the latest).   Work two Sundays per month.  May be asked to volunteer for additional Sundays when need arises.

Communications

Communications / Graphic Coordinator

Description: This is an essential role, responsible for coordinating all ministry graphic needs for production.

  • Manage all ministry timelines and content.
  • Communication with volunteer design team.
  • Market and spread word to new graphic design volunteers
  • Nessesary skills in Abobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Time Commitment: 5 hours per week

Communications / VJ Coordinator

Description: A talented individual who would be responsible for developing a team of Video Jockeys (VJ’s) for Newsong’s communications.

  • Lead a group of VJs
  • Develop small commercials for announcements and initiatives that Newsong rolls out.
  • Must be good with people and organized.
  • Follows up with VJ team every month

Time commitment: 5 - 10 hours per week

Description: We are looking someone who is willing to serve our online global community.

  • This position involves building buzz around our community.newsong.net and monitoring the network from spammers.
  • Empower others in our community and help develop new groups around what God is doing at Newsong Church

Description: This position is open for a creative and talented writer.

  • Involved in the majority of communication material Newsong delivers to its community (online and offline).
  • Writing Director will working directly with the Communications Director.
  • Material for review will include: Rave cards, Eblasts, Bulletins and Branding for Newsong Globally.

Cause/cWoW/Outreach

Cause/cWoW/Outreach Coordinator

Description: Have a heart for outreach and missions?  Help plug people like you into various opportunities locally and globally.

  • Keep track of various local outreach opportunities and stay connected with their contact people.
  • Manage the Newsong Cause website and keep up-to-date with all outreach opportunities.
  • Reply to communication card inquiries and connect people to various local outreach opportunties.
  • Look for new avenues for people to serve beyond the walls of Newsong; develop relationships with potential new outreach partners.

Time commitment: 4 hours per week
