Love Haiti
HOW CAN WE HELP HAITI?
1) PRAY
- Continue to pray for those affected by the earthquake and the aid workers assisting in Haiti
- Pray for people, governments, organizations, and churches, to respond with tangible love that is helpful and is effective in long term care
2) GO
We are praying about sending teams to Haiti when it will be most beneficial to the people and aid organizations. Our goal is to assist in long-term care. The process for rebuilding will be long so there will be opportunities later in the year to go and serve. If you are interested, please send an email with the following information to LoveHaiti@newsong.net:
3) SEND
If you cannot make a trip to Haiti, but can sponsor someone to go, please email LoveHaiti@newsong.net. Travel expenses can range from $1000-$2000 Financial assistance is needed! Please consider sending someone to provide care for the afflicted.
4) DONATE
Update: donations have exceeded $40,000! Thank you for your generosity! The World Vision-Love Haiti site will continue to receive donations so please forward the site to your network: www.worldvision.org/lovehaiti
*****
In collaboration with New Hope, JustOne, ICC, and Sakura, Newsong has helped launch a “Love Haiti” Donations Matching Challenge to raise funds for Haiti. World Vision has set up a special donations page on their website for this challenge. Please visit www.worldvision.org/lovehaiti and give a donation towards this effort. The first $10,000 in donations were already matched by ICC and Sakura. If you would like to become a donor that contributes to the total matching amount, contact Charles Lee at messagecharles@gmail.com.
5) UPDATES AND THANK YOU’S!
- Several Newsong members joined a team of medical professionals from Mosaic Church and the Southern Baptist Convention to provide medical relief. They were able to help many but emphasized that continuous care is needed. The photo below is from a makeshift clinic in Port Au Prince. One team member evaluating a patient while others wait:
- On Friday, February 26, over 200 people came out to MOCA, a night showcasing many talents from dancing, to acting and singing, produced by the Edge (Newsong’s College group). Over $1500 was raised in donations for Love Haiti! Thanks to all who attended, performed and donated.

- Thank you to those who gave so generously to Dillon International’s medical clinic, Hope Hospital, which is located in Port au Prince, Haiti. The team of doctors was able to use the much needed supplies. They are no longer collecting supplies at the moment but will inform Newsong of any other needs in the near future.
